### PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Making Cents With Coins packet provides you with 8 instructional activities that you can use with your elementary students to introduce them to coins. The activities take students from an exploratory stage to identifying coins by name and value to recognizing equivalent sets and, finally, calculating total value.

More than just a collection of worksheets to color in, our engaging activities include:

* What Is Different? - An exploratory worksheet where students investigate physical differences between pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters

* Matching Coin Cards - Set of 24 cards that can be used to play concentration (also known as "memory") or with coin manipulatives

* Coin Dominoes - Continue reinforcing identification and naming of coins with this set of domino tiles

* Lining Up - Introductory activity that explores equivalent value sets

* Equal Coin Values Foldable - Student made manipulative where students demonstrate understanding of equivalent value sets. This activity requires cutting and pasting.

* I Have - Who Has - Two sets of 20 cards offering different challenge levels for identfying coin values

* Making Change - Center activity where students can stamp out sets of coins to equal a stated value

* Making Cents with Coins: Two different 8-page booklets for high and low reading ability

It is highly recommended that you print your activity cards in color ink and on white cardstock. Laminating the paper or using contact paper will help keep your instructional material looking new as you use it year-to-year.

Some activities will require that you provide your students with actual coins, or authentic looking play coins. The center activity Making Change requires a set of coin rubber stamps. Please see the preview file for additional details. Please note that these materials are not included with the purchase of this packet.
