This is a fun game for practice adding and subtracting money! My students have loved this game year after year! Of course I always make it fun by using small shopping bags and also play cash registers that I have available! This is FULLY EDITABLE!!!
UPDATE: This now includes a black and white version of this game as well for those that don't have color copying available!! They are also editable!!
Copies of the shopping cart and cash register (you may
need more than one for each student depending on how many times they play)
Each group will need a set of the shopping items. These are best if printed on cardstock. They need to be cut apart and made into a set.
Lunch bags are also a great addition to playing this game!
One group or partner is the shopper. This student(s)
chooses 4 items to purchase. On their shopping cart paper, they
will list the items and then add up the total of their purchases. They
will then subtract that amount from the money ($20.00) they bought
with them to the store to see how much they should get back.
One group or partner is the cashier. They must list and total up
the items the shopper wishes to purchase. Then they subtract
that amount from the amount of cash the shopper “gives” them
Play continues exchanging roles for as many times as you wish
or time allows.
Thank you for looking!!
