This lesson is made for students 1st - 2nd grade. It’s comprised of four 30-minute lessons. It is perfect for teaching kindness through words. The terms “warm fuzzies” and “cold pricklies” come from the kindergarten lesson about how words can help or hurt our friends. This lesson is made to be combined with the book “Bearenstein Bears Bully.” The book helps children to visualize how words affect friends.
Many children do not understand how words affect others or how words can hurt their friends. Throughout four lessons, students will learn how to choose words wisely so that they can make and keep friends with their words.
