This set includes a week's worth of lessons and materials to help you introduce and teach the important reading skill of making inferences. Begin the teaching of this skill by using concrete materials and a fun activity called, "What's My Teacher Been Up To?" Build upon their understanding of inferring by having students use clues in photographs as they make inferences regarding characters, settings and plots in pictures. Finally use short passages and a scaffolded approach as you gradually release students to work on this difficult skill through text and on their own. This bundle includes ideas for introducing, practicing and assessing this reading skill as well as note sheets and an anchor chart idea to document students' learning.
