This product can be used either as a practice or an assessment of making inferences. There are ten short scenarios, each describing a something using a few specific details. For each scenario there is a question that the student must answer by using their inferring skills. In many of the questions, clue words are bold-faced that signal this will be an inferring question. The first five questions are set at a 4th-5th grade level and the last five are more on the 6th grade level. This is a great practice in stringing details together to infer an answer, whether it be a character's feelings, an event, etc. Inferring is a higher-order reading skill, and a necessary skill in becoming proficient in comprehending all types of text.
