Description
This Making Inferences Task Card set includes:
- 32 inference task cards (with multiple choice answers)
- 32 inference task cards (without answer options) and answer key
- 1 task card worksheet
- 1 individual assessment worksheet with answer key
Each task card contains a short passage. After reading the passage, students use the details in the text to make an inference. On the multiple-choice cards, passages are followed by four answer options from which students choose the most valid inference that can be made based on the clues in the text. Cards with only passages (and not multiple-choice answers) are also included so that students have the opportunity to make inferences on their own.
These task cards can be used individually, with a partner, or in cooperative learning groups
The worksheets provide an explanation of making inferences. The task card worksheet has a graphic organizer that can be used to organize the details in the text and help them make an inference. The assessment worksheet has three short passages with the same graphic organizer.
Common Core English Language Arts Standard:

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.6.1 Cite textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.

This is an awesome resource! I can use it with a lot of my caseload. I love that there are the same stories with multiple choice and short answer so I can use it in mixed groups. I would definitely recommend this.
