My students could definitely always use more practice making inferences! It is such an important skills and any opportunity where my students can practice it in class is valuable. This activity was designed specifically for students to practice writing inferences based on different images, and now I want to share it with you all!
How I Used My Product
I used this activity with my 4th graders by taping each page around my room. There are six images total for students to infer about. Students traveled in their table groups to each picture with a different color marker and wrote their inferences. On each page, I have the "formula" for writing an inference at the top (schema + clues = inference) as a helpful reminder for my students. Each picture is engaging and interesting and leaves a bit of mystery for the students to infer about. When each student was able to write an inference for each picture, I posted these around the room for students to see what other students have inferred. Students love seeing their work posted and it served as a wonderful reminder to students about how to come up with an inference!
*Color and B&W available!
