I modified an older worksheet given to me from another teacher. This is a simple worksheet using Edward D. Hoch's short story, "Zoo." Students make inferences about underlined sections of the story and explain how or why they were able to make the inference.
The worksheet is geared toward upper elementary and middle school students. An answer key with possible responses is provided.
I like to remind my students that they may make many inferences from a single line or event, and that any inference can be correct as long as it can be supported with evidence and logic.
