(How to create repeating patterns using a computer painting program)
** NOTE: This project can be adapted to be utilized
with ANY painting program that provides the indicated tools - As most do.
This project is based on the use of the basic MS. Paint program that is provided as an accessory with all computers running on the windows operating system.
(In other words, if you use Windows, you probably have MS. Paint.)
This lesson will show you step by step, both written and pictorial, how to create a pattern using the MS. Paint program.
Students of this lesson will learn how to navigate the MS. Paint program and how to utilize tools, especially the select tool.
Students of this lesson will learn how to use the right mouse button and left mouse button and the features of each within the painting program. They will learn how to differentiate between right clicking and left clicking.
Students may explore multiple avenues to arrive at the same result, offering opportunities for high levels of creativity and higher order thinking skills to develop.
Students will remain actively involved in the learning through the structure of the lesson - every detail is detailed for you!!
Also included in the lesson is a complete vocabulary list, a materials list, and suggested resources to support the lesson.
Because of the hands on approach to this step by step lesson and the incorporation of higher order thinking available within the structure of the lesson, students are kept actively involved with the learning!
