As a teacher, you know how important it is for kids to make predictions while reading. It helps aid in reading comprehension. Making predictions also helps students both understand and remember the information they have read. The following activities can help teachers reinforce this essential skill.
There are three activities included in this packet.
Color and Find – There are three stories in which students must read for comprehension. They must go back into the text to find the information. Each question is color coded. When the answer is found, the student will use a crayon and color it.
Stop and Predict Stories and Graphic Organizer– There are three stories along with a graphic organizer that is used with all the stories. Students will read up until the stop sign. Once at the stop sign, they will predict what will happen next by filling in each box in the graphic organizer.
Stop and Predict Game – This is a fun and quick game using multiple choice prediction cards and a game board.
