This packet of worksheets is designed for use with the Cost/Pay Tool (available for download in my store). The Dollar Up Method is a tried and true method of figuring out an appropriate amount to make a purchase. For example, let's say an item costs $6.38. Students can use the Cost/Pay Tool to identify the dollar amount of the cost ($6), then identify the next dollar up to pay for the item ($7). While students can complete the worksheets without the Cost/Pay Tool, students who struggle with this life skill would benefit from using the Cost/Pay Tool when initially working on this skill. As students move onto maintenance and generalization of the skill, students can complete the worksheets without the Cost/Pay Tool or for homework assignments.
