Thank you for purchasing my Making Ten Puzzles. This is a fun and engaging way to help your kiddos practice composing or decomposing 10, or to practice determining how many more are needed to get to 10, when given a specific #. I place the left pieces on the left side of the table, the middle pieces go in the middle of the table, and the right pieces on the right. I have my kindergartners pick up a left piece and then determine how many more are needed to get to 10 by counting on, using their fingers or manipulatives, or just using mental math. They will then find the puzzle piece that makes 10 when added to their first (left) piece. Then they add the #10 piece. Finally, I have them record the equation that their completed puzzle represents on the included recording sheet. My kiddos love this activity. I hope yours do too.
Print puzzle pieces on card stock and laminate them for
Durability and print the recording sheet back to back.
