I created this Making 10 Card Matching Activity for the kids to practice their addition facts that equal 10. A fun warm-up!!
Teacher Directions: Print onto colored cardstock, laminate and cut out cards Keep in a zip-lock bag to be reused year after year!
Mini-Lesson: Pass out 24 cards to students. Take out pairs for lesser amounts of students. Have a teacher hold a card for an odd number of students. Pass out cards face down. On the count of 3, have students walk around the room to find their match to make 10. Students should stand with their partner. Go around the room and have each pair read aloud their making 10 fact. For duplicate facts, discuss turn around facts and write the pairs of turn-around facts on the board. To follow-up this activity, complete the “Addition Facts — Making 10 — Color Sorting Worksheet” available in my Tpt store.
