Making Ten Strategy Math Center (St. Patrick's Day Theme)
This math center gives your students practice using the Making 10 Strategy to solve addition problems. There are two versions of the mat (one color and one black and white) which you can laminate or place in a communicator. Students will pick an addition problem card and use counters to represent it on the ten frames on the mat. Students can write the number sentence and the new number sentence they form on the mat using a dry erase marker. You can use two color counters for this or you can cut and use the shamrock and gold coin counters included. This center has a St. Patrick's Day theme.
I made this to go along with the skills being practiced in Unit 6 of the Everyday Math series, but it will work with any math series.
