Product Description
This activity can be used in a variety of ways. You can use this activity as a quick check, game, or a center. All you need are dice and this work sheet! Give your students one die a piece to roll and this worksheet. Explain to them that they will roll the dice once to see what number they will put in their first heart. Then explain that they will have to come up with the number in the second heart that will add to the first number to make ten. Example: "If you roll a four, you will write four in your first heart. Now let's think what number added to four will make ten. (6) That's right! Now you will write the number six in the second heart." After your students become familiar with this activity, you can start using a timer and partnering your kids up. If I did partners with my kids, I would make sure that each student had a different colored crayon from their partner so I could make sure they were answering equal amounts or not.
