Making words is so important. This packet contains different activities for students to practice creating and writing words. This helps students to work on sounds, consonants, vowels, blends, rhyming, and problem solving.
These activities can be used for individual, small group, or whole group instructions.
Included in this packet:
Making Words with Clues: Students are verbally given cues on the next word in a steps of words. Each word only changes one letter or sound from the previous word to the next. There are 10 different activities and two answer sheets for students.
Making Words with Word Ladders: Students are given a worksheet with a ladder on it. By starting at the bottom of the ladder, they use clues to determine the next word. Each word only changes one letter or sound from the previous word to the next. There are 10 different worksheets for students.
Making Words with Grids: Students use a printed grid (either 4x4 or 5x5) to create as many words as possible. This is a fun timed game that can be done on their own or with a group. There are 20 different grids and two blank grids to make your own!
Making Words with Letter Tiles: Students are given seven letter tiles and they are challenged to manipulate the letters as many ways as they can to find multiple words. Each set of seven will make one 7-letter word as well which is a great challenge for the students. This can become an optional game if wanted. There are 24 different letter tiles activities.
