Another long time favourite activity of mine. Making words is short, easy, and highly effective. Students move letters to create words, guided by the teacher. Each lesson has a focus, whether it be learning short E word families, or adding new sounds such as "sh" to the word families. By incorporating tactile learning to word building, students engage the brain in this effective literacy activity.

-students sheets (Cut across the chart and give each student a strip. Students can cut each letter and set them up along their desk in alphabetical order.)
