This product contains the directions and templates for making individual student folders to use during making words phonics lessons. The folders are created using 2 file folders to create a trifold folder. The templates are glued to the inside of the file folders and sticky notes are used to print the letters on. The product contains 7 pages; directions, pictures, a choice of color cover page or black and white, and 3 pages of letter templates.
The three pages of letters include consonants, vowels/vowel teams, and digraphs/consonant blends. I included the most common vowel teams and digraphs as taught in the Harcourt Storytown reading series and the Wilson Fundations Phonics program. This product is classroom tested and loved! I have seen tremendous growth in my students' ability to "see" the pattern of beginning, middle, and ending spelling patterns because of the color coded system. It can also be used as a formative assessment as it is easy to survey the room and see who is getting it and who is not. This folder can also be used in small groups and individualized intervention.
