Making Words Pocket Chart, Set 1 (20 words included-whole group and individual letter tiles, recording sheet)
Individual-Students cut out the letters (4 per page to save paper). Students use the letter tiles to form words and record them on the recording sheet. (***I’m a big fan of saving paper and eliminating copies. My students do not use the recording sheet…instead, I teach them to record their words in their Word Work Journal.***
Whole Group-Teacher copies, laminates (for future use) and cuts out pocket chart letters. Teacher will mix up the letters and display them in a pocket chart (the small pocket charts from the Target dollar spot are great). Teacher works with students to create and record words. Utilizing the activity whole group is also a great way to wrap up and share the words that students created during their independent work time.
