I have created a year long center for students needing help with sight words. It offers students the ability to work on 4 words at a time. They will read it, make it, and then write it. You get a sheet with four words printed. Then there is a space for them to make the words using letter tiles they cut apart. After that they glue them in place. The last spot is for them to practice writing the sight word.
This follows words from the first grade fry list.
You can differentiate this center easily by allowing some students to use magnetic letters first and then using the pieces of paper to glue onto their sheet. You can also take the letters away and give a higher student empty squares and have them write then own letters, cut them out and then glue them on.
**I have included a sample page that you can print and complete with your students to show them how the center should be completed. I have also included a blank page for you to write in your own words.
