Do you need an activity that analyzes the Civil Rights Movement during the 1960's? Do you want to go totally PAPERLESS? If so we've got exactly what you're looking for!
This "Civil Rights Changes and Triumphs" Digital Activity includes:
1) A thought provoking activity that will get your students engaged with the key events of the Civil Rights Movement during the 1960s. Students will read through a timeline that lists events that took place during the movement. Students will answer questions about the movement that will help them gain a greater understanding of the movement. Once the timeline is completed, students will analyze quotes from Malcolm X. These quotes talk about the change in the movement, gearing more towards militant action and away from that of peaceful protesting. This is a great activity to gain insight to a movement that is less talked about than that of MLK. You can use this activity to lead a discussion of the actions of MLK to that of Malcolm X.
This activity can be used in many different ways in the classroom. Students can work independently, in pairs or this activity can be used as a jigsaw in order to facilitate a class wide discussion about the topics discussed in the activity.
2) A detailed answer key to the lesson activity to save you time and help guide student comprehension.
This activity can also be found in a bundle paired with a PowerPoint, Keynote and PDF version of a fully customizable lecture found here:
