This resource enables you to have a structured classroom debate about the topic of demography—are we headed for a Malthusian Catastrophe or not?
This lesson begins with a simulation to help students understand the Malthus Theorem. Students will then briefly research Malthusian and anti-Malthusian perspectives to gain an initial understanding of both sides.
Students will then have a brief discussion over the topic before being split into sides for a structured classroom debate.
