About this resource:
In this activity, students use area of circles to discover better pizza deals. I begin this activity by fooling students with a fake pizza deal (trust me, most all of them are always fooled!). I then show them how area of circles proves my case.
Students must work in pairs to create their own advertisement that would fool customers, just as they were fooled. They must provide a write up with their ad showing how they used area of circles. A complete example is shown on the worksheet for them.
In this document, I have included teacher notes on how I begin the activity.
