PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This lesson is based on the 2013 movie: Man of Steel where we discover that the "S" superman wears is really a family crest that symbolizes HOPE. This lesson has students use symbolism and design skills to create an emblem in the style of Superman’s family crest and consider what character trait best represents who they are or wish to be. They would then incorporate this into a “super slogan” much like superman's “Man of Steel”.
This can be easily be a creative writing starter, art project, graphic design lesson, technology based art on the iPads, and/or incorporate green screen effects when you layer the final work on the students themselves. Just grab a box fan and cape to get a great final photograph!
Your download includes:
1. A worksheet for brainstorming ideas.
2. A sheet of slogan starters that help the students focus on good character.
3. Directions with a link to the PNG emblem template file that will help your students design an emblem in Sketchbook Express or a similar app on the iPad.
