Product Description

The /b/ initial tonal minimal pairs word setlist thoughtfully demonstrates /b/ initial words in tonal minimal pairs. Mandarin-Chinese is a tonal language, with 4 main tones and 1 neutral tone (5 tones), each with a distinctive pitch contour in speech sound production.

Speech sound production therapy in Mandarin-Chinese must include considerations for tonal production as the tones change meaning of each word. This set will help the speech-language pathologist (or SLPA, teacher, parent) help to work on tones in addition to initial /b/ production.

This setlist was created in collaboration by Vivian Tisi, M.A., CCC-SLP and Ran "Rena" Ju, B.A. in order to produce accessible materials for the purpose of Mandarin-Chinese speech therapy.
