Manhattan Project and the Race for the Atomic Bomb Webquest uses a great website that allows students to learn about the race to develop the first atomic bomb between the United States and Nazi Germany during World War II.
The following events/people are covered in this webquest:
Rise of the Nazis and the Nazi Program to Develop an Atomic Bomb
Failures of the Nazi Atomic Program
Use of the Atomic Bomb and the End of WWII
The webquest contains 40 questions and an answer key is included for the teacher. A QR code is included along with the traditional website links. I recommend using this activity to go along with any discussions about the Manhattan Project. The webquest will take most students at least 30 to 50 minutes to complete depending on age. I suggest using this assignment for grades 7-12. Feel free to modify this activity if needed to fit the needs of your students.
