This resource gives your students practice writing the high frequency words from the Spalding Spelling List, which can be found in Romalda Spalding's "The Writing Road to Reading." In particular, this resource lists the words found in the initial sections A-G. The lines are ruled to 5/8 inch, ideal for the primary writer. The font aligns with the Spalding handwriting rules and guidelines as is a good model for your young students.
Use this resource as homework, or give your struggling students extra practice. Encourage students to "sound out" phonograms and syllables as they trace and then write. Then encourage your students to "read for spelling" and "read for reading." The few lines at the bottom of each page can be used for sentence writing opportunities or for sentence copywork/dictation. Please use this resource to its full potential!
Please print to fit.
I hope this work enhances and brings relevance to your instruction.
