-- manuscript printing letter formation posters, pre-k, kindergarten, 1st, writing center --
This bundle includes 52 landscaped, 8.5" x 11" posters for instructing students on proper manuscript letter formation. 26 posters are in color and 26 are in black and white (or gray scale).
Letters are based on the Zaner-Bloser manuscript style. The capital "J" has a "hat" on top. The lowercase "t" starts on the top line.
For each letter, there is a dot that indicates the starting place. (In the colored version, this dot is red as well as the baseline.) Grayed arrows and numbers show the direction and number of strokes. Each colored poster has either a blue, green, orange, yellow, or purple border.
The black and white posters can be mounted on cardstock that coordinates with your classroom colors. The white starting "dot" can be colored in, if desired.
I use these posters to teach proper letter formation. Initially, students repeat what I do by "sky writing" the uppercase and lowercase letter of the day. As students practice in their Letter and Sound books, these posters are used for reference. Additionally, I have another set copied that I place on the wall near the door. On our way to recess, students must properly finger-trace the letter as their "ticket out the door". They enjoy it!
I hope you find these to be a valuable tool in your classroom. If you have any suggestions for improvement or questions, please let me know. Enjoy!
