My Maps unit was seriously lacking. I had a couple books and a couple simple activities - but somehow I couldn't wrap my mind around how to teach Kindergartner's map skills. This format helps young students think of map skills in a more concrete way - in the perspective of large to small objects. Each page of this map skills book is designed to fit on top of each other, slowly getting smaller as it goes. This product addresses many different formats of map location including earth, continent, country, state, province, county, parish, borough, city, town, neighborhood, home, the child's "room" and "ME!"... Borough comes in two separate sizes - one smaller and one larger than "city". Students can draw pictures on each page of their map book and label their picture - or can cut and paste "artifacts" or pictures that represent each part of their map.
