This Adobe flash file lets students interact to see how the countries lined up to fight World War I.
Runs off the Flash Player - Please check to see if you have the updated Free Flash Player. For those tablet users I am using Flash Player 10.2. To find out how to put Flash on your tablet - Go to http://www.androidcentral.com/how-manually-install-flash-your-android-device Go to http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html to update your computer.
Students click the country which is identified as they mouse over. They cycle through the country's colors.
1click moves from white to red (for Central Powers)
2clicks - green (for Allied Powers) and
3clicks to yellow (for Neutral Powers).
Clicking the "Check Answers" button puts a check or x on each country. Their score is based on 23 countries in Europe. Incorrect answers are totaled for the student. A "Reset button" lets them play again. The program also gives a good chart showing the sides of the Central, Allied and Neutral Powers.
This is also a good map to teach the Triple Entente and Triple Alliance.
