This is a fun graphing activity that I developed as cross-curricular activity for my seventh grade students. It works well for emergency sub plans or as an introduction to graphing.
The students plot a series of points on a coordinate plane (connecting the dots as they go). When they finish, they will have created a map of the United States.
Once they have completed the graph, I have the label the Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, Gulf of Mexico, Alaska (AK), and Hawaii (HI). I also have them color Canada, Mexico, and the oceans.
I hope that you will enjoy this activity. Please leave feedback as well as suggestions as to how to improve the activity.
