Being able to use coordinates when mapping is an important skill for students to learn. This is a collection of activities and mapping exercises that will help to develop this skill.
It begins with playing a game of Battleship and ends with creating maps. Included are room plans, landscapes, and a neighborhood map.
Students will use legends and questions to navigate the maps and they will also create their own legends and questions.
The final step involves using city or state/provincial maps and becoming more familiar with them. Have fun exploring and creating with these.
