Mapping the Great Depression, Dust Bowl
This mapping activity is a great way to introduction the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl! It begins by prompting the students to label major waterways. It then moves to the areas directly affected by the Dust Bowl, then to the surrounding areas affected by the Dust Bowl. Lastly, it prompts students to locate the TVA and the migration of people during the Great Depression. Students can use the internet or their textbooks—whichever is available for their use. The last page contains links to websites that offer free blank United States maps.
Duration is usually just one class period (about 45 minutes).
