My students love this lesson! We learn about traditional paper marbling and try our hand at a simplified version that uses shaving cream. Then we discuss silhouettes and learn about artists who create them.
Included in this resource:
*Detailed lesson plan PDF with directions handout, National, INTASC, and Utah state standards
*PowerPoint presentation about paper marbling, includes embedded video & discussion questions
*PowerPoint presentation about silhouettes, includes several artists
I use this lesson in my drawing class, but it can be included in a variety of units! It's aimed toward secondary level, but can easily be adapted to younger grades.
