Behavior Management is on our minds as teachers every day! Even the best-behaved class needs reminders and incentives to continue along the right path throughout the year. The Marble Jar incentive system is one that students and teachers have enjoyed using for many years.
This resource contains elements that can be used as a whole class poster or as a notebook recording system for small groups or table groups. Print and assemble the jar and your preferred lid to create the poster. All color graphics provided in black/white as well for easier printing. Print descriptor circle back to back with marble sircle pages, laminate, and cut out. I recommend laminating the poster page (jar and lid) for durability also.
I have provided 22 behavior description circles as well as a blank page ofcircles for you to add more descriptions specific to your class. The descriptions I have written were typical of small and large group expectations in my third, fourth, and fifth grade classrooms.
You may want to print some extras of the marble circles with descriptors on the back to award to individual students when they have mastered particular group behavior. They can fill individual notebook”jars” with these circles. (Ziploc bag or envelope!)
Wishing you a great year ahead filled with the peace of mind
and inner peace that great in-class behaviors will bring!
