A fun marble run STEM lesson that covers many parts of the Australian Curriculum's Design and Technologies strand. This series of 5 lessons caters for students in Years 3 to 6 and involves an investigation, design component, making session and reflection. A structured series of lessons for students to investigate, design and create 3 different marble runs, each with a specific purpose. Can be a great week long program or spread over several sessions.
Teachers are supported with a lesson planner, ACARA links, materials list and copies of student pages in both colour and black/white versions. The task card provided has a learning intention stated and success criteria given. Teachers are advised that while lesson plans have been provided, it is important that they make their own professional judgement and supplement or change the resource as needed to suit their class.
This resource is based on the outcomes of the Australian Curriculum, however it is easily adaptable to other countries and is not country specific on the student pages. This is a zipped file and needs to be unzipped to access both the student and the teacher files. Please note that this file is not editable.
