This unit is for John Lewis' graphic novel MARCH (Book One). It breaks the novel down into four sections. Each section includes a vocabulary activity, comprehension questions, analysis questions, and an objective summary based on a related article/topic. There is also a mini-research project about an event in the Civil Rights movement.
The objective summaries are scaffolded. For the first one, students get a template with sentence starters. As the unit progresses, they can use less help. The last one is designed to be an assessment.
I used this in Google Classroom, so there are not extra spaces for student to write answers (they just typed right into the Google Doc). If you choose to use it as pencil/paper, you can simply add in spaces OR have students answer on their own papers and make a class set. Either way, it is easy to use and takes very little prep!
