DERBY O'SULLIVAN POEM/STORY
Here is a gentle poem of a precious, charming Irish couple, Derby and Catherine O'Sullivan, and how they chose joy and brought joy to their village in the midst of a fierce storm. The sweet poem/story is followed by 4 sheets requiring students to draw 4 scenes from the story. The collection of these drawings created by my students looked so precious up on a "St. Patrick's Day" bulletin board with the poem situated in the middle. We added photos we found of Irish villages, Irish folk dancing, and beautiful rainbows.
IN LIKE A LION SHEET MUSIC
"In like a lion, out like a lamb" describes the wild changeable weather of March. This original little song has two different melodies, (the lion melody and the lamb melody), which can be sung together, point and counterpoint. The super simple repetitive accompaniment keeps all voices rhythmically together. This is a delightful challenge to learn and share.
MARCH SONG SHEET MUSIC
Playing through the year in the key of C is a series of short simple piano pieces written for my beginning piano students; one for each month of the year. This piece is for March, and the lyrics are about St. Patrick's Day.
