Teresa Kwant and FirstGradeFunTimes have teamed up to bring you a FIRST GRADE VERSION of her popular Grab and Go Centers for Grades 3-6

Included are Language Arts centers for the entire month of March. There are 64 centers total with instructions on how to implement them into your classroom. This month we have added color and BW choices for many of the activities.Each center comes with a task card and a corresponding activity (with the exception of the "teacher directed center". I leave that task card blank, because as the classroom teacher, you will know what to teach your small groups best). Within the month, activities will build upon each other so that games, laminated cards, etc. will be used more than once - for different activities - to save on copies and lamination.

Center themes/skills include:

WEEK 1 - Word Work: Students will be working on the ack, ick, eck, ock and uck sounds.
Fluency: Students will create, read and write silly sentences. They will also do sight words word search, read reader’s theater, and do sight word spinners.
Reading: Students will work on compound words and reading comprehension.
Writing: Students will continue compound word practice, write with March words, review books and create a bunting banner, and practice sight word sentences.
Meet with the Teacher: This center is a lesson planned by you, specific to your student groups.

WEEK 2: Word Work: Students will work on the ang, ing, ong and ung sounds.
Fluency: Students will work on sights words by doing a sight words word search, playing crack the code, and spinning for sight words. Students will also read a reader’s theater.
Reading: Students will write a friendly letter to a book character, practice inferring, practice sequencing, and read for compound words.
Writing: Students will write with the topic “Would you rather,” label pictures, and practice sight words with mixed up sight words, and sight word sentences,
Meet with the Teacher: This center is a lesson planned by you, specific to your student groups.

WEEK 3: Word Work:Students will practice with the sounds ank, ink and unk.
Fluency: Students do silly sentences, read reader’s theater, play sight words word search, and spin for sight words.
Reading: Students will make retelling books, do a book review, practice reading comprehension and practice reading plural words.
Writing: Students will build sentences, make plural words, play with plural puzzles, and practice with sight word sentences.
Meet with the Teacher: This center is a lesson planned by you, specific to your student groups.

WEEK 4: Word Work: Students will practice with the all, ell and ill sounds.
Fluency: Students will practice sight words by playing crack the code, sight words word search, and spinning for sight words. They will also read a reader’s theater.
Reading: Students will play with plural puzzles, go on a nouns and verbs hunt, practice irregular plural nouns, and go on a short and long vowel hunt.
Writing: Students will continue practice with irregular plural nouns, write with task cards, and practice sight words with mixed up words and sight word sentences.
Meet with the Teacher: This center is a lesson planned by you, specific to your student groups.
