Product Description
This Common Core aligned pack includes the following activities:

*Spring Syllables- Students will say the two syllables to create a word. They will then find the matching picture piece. To differentiate, cut each butterfly down the middle so students have to think about which 2 syllables go together to create a real word.
(Common Core: RF.1.3.E)

*Mix & Fix Sentences- Students will sort cards by picture. They will use cards with the same picture to create a sentence that makes sense. As they create each sentence, they will read it. Students will record their sentences on the sheet provided. The sentence cards can be used to differentiate for students who need support creating a good sentence. (Common Core: RF.1.1)

*R- Controlled Memory- Students will put all cards face down in the playing area. They will choose 2 cards and decide if they are a match. Students are looking for the word card and the picture card. The game is over when all cards are matched. The person with the most matches is the winner.
(Common Core: RF.1.3)

*Picture It!- Students will roll a dice and move that many spaces. They will say the word and segment the sounds. Students will record the word on their sheet and then find the word card to check their spelling. If a student lands on a number space, they get to move that many spaces. (Common Core: RF.1.3.C)

*Buggy Bingo- Each player will take a game board. Students will take turns choosing
a picture card from the deck. They will say the word and cover it on their board. The first player to cover their entire board is the winner! You could also do 3 in a row to win. (Common Core: RF.1.3.C)

*Sight Word Go Fish- Each player will get 5 cards from the deck. They will pair any matches they have. Students will take turns asking for a word in their hand. If the other student has it, they will give it to their partner. If they do not have the card, their partner says ‘Go Fish’ and they take a card from the deck. The winner is the person with the most pairs when all cards are matched. (Common Core: RF.1.3.G)

*Sounds Like Spring- Students will choose a verb card and read the word. They will listen to the inflectional ending and decide if ‘ed’ in that word sounds like /d/ or /t/. They will sort it under the correct card. (Common Core: RF.1.3.F)

*Make It Right- Students will place all sentence cards face down in a pile. They will take turns choosing a cards, reading it, and deciding if it makes sense as is. If it does, their partner takes a turn. When a card doesn’t make sense, the reader has to tell what is wrong and how to fix it. That person will get a bug to add to their jar. The first player with 3 bugs in their jar is the winner! (Common Core: RF.1.4)
