It’s that time of year again to celebrate the day of green! However, these activities can help incorporate common core into your daily March curriculum, while enjoying the spoils of St. Patrick’s Day!
This packet of activities is for introducing clocks and time to your students! The first several pages are printables for o’clock, quarter after, half after, and quarter ‘til. You can use them for an anchor chart or just to paste onto green construction paper for classroom learning!
The following activities are focused on learning o’clock and half past. Then, have fun with Liam, Lyla, Lyle, and Lilly Leprechaun to figure out how they like to spend their days!
Making funny leprechaun clock hats (Shamrock Clock Hats) will help the students work out any time word problems in class. Decorate them as you see fit, but make sure you add a 4-leaf clover for good luck! Wear them on your head, or keep them in your desk, but the movable hands on the clocks will allow students to explore o’clock and half past easily.
Lastly, after all is said and done, have your students become a leprechaun for a day! Using the example, students will show others how they would spend their day if they were a leprechaun.
Each activity can be used in conjunction with other units. On request, changes or additions can be made. Please enjoy the packet of activities as we all get ready for Spring!
