March Madness: Math Activity - Percent and Proportion:

This is a math activity in spirit of March Madness. March Madness is one of the biggest and most exciting events for college Basketball. The activity gives a very brief description of March Madness and then asks 12 word problems involving percent and proportion about various basketball players and their stats.

Students must use their knowledge of solving percent word problems using proportions and/or an equation. Students will be asked to find the part, whole, and percent. Some of the questions are more challenging where students must use the missing percent to calculate the total. Each question is aligned with the 6th and 7th grade grade common core standards about percents and proportions. This activity is a great way to have fun in math class while learning! All of the statistics were based off of the NCAA website.

No PREP NECESSARY! Simply copy the math activity for each student. Students will then answer 12 questions using percent and proportions. . Answer Key included.
