I made this product in recognition of College Basketball's Annual March Madness. It is a simple file folder game
asking word problems using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. It is the PERFECT word problem practice!
Players take turns drawing cards and answering the questions. If they answer correctly they may move how many spaces that are stated on the card. If they answer incorrectly, they stay put. There are also special spots on the board such as, "Slam Dunk! Move ahead!" or "Foul, lose a turn!" The first player all the way around the board wins!
Just like the REAL March Madness, this game can be played tournament style! I included a bracket to write students' names in to play the game against their classmates. After the first round of playing, the students who win can play the others who win, and so on until there is one winner left standing! Those students who do not win the first round, can even start their own bracket!
Of course, the tournament is just an OPTION, and you could simply use this game for a math station as well.
Included in this packet:
1 board game (in two pieces)
24 game cards- 7 multiplication problems, 6 addition, 6 subtraction, 5 division
2 answer keys for students to check each other
1 bracket if tournament style is chosen
1 Math award
All you need to play are the game pieces!!
Cut, laminate, and place in file folder for long term keeping!
Thanks for considering this purchase!
