Get your students even more excited about the March Madness basketball tournament! Included in this resource are discussion questions/task cards all related to the NCAA tournament, a blank bracket, a college research project, and a fun extension activity.
Students can answer the discussion questions individually, with partners, or in groups after a read aloud on the topic. Alternatively, students can independently research March Madness with books or online sources to answer the questions in a worksheet format. Students could also complete their own brackets and research a college competing in the tournament. This would be great to raise awareness of different colleges! The final extension activity asks students to come up with a new name for the tournament and design a logo. These activities will fill at least 3 days of literacy instruction!
