This is an activity that has students use included data (thru 2015) to run a simulation of the Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament either using a random digit table or a graphing calculator. It is in a Word document so you can easily modify it to meet your needs. A blank bracket with seeds is included. The random digit table is not included, but these can easily be found on the internet and isn't necessary if you want to use a random number generator. I did this activity in my Statistics course and they really got into it. It took between 20 and 40 minutes depending on how much guidance you want to give them. You will need three digits if you use a random digit table which will get you a random number between 000 and 999. Or 1-1000 if you are using a random number generator. If you are using a TI graphing calculator, then use RandInt(1,1000) to produce your random numbers.
