3rd grade skills are used throughout the year when learning new concepts. These March themed centers will help your students continue to practice concepts. Great for early finishers, review, test prep and so much more.
In this pack you will find 8 common core aligned math centers for students to practice previous taught concepts.
Murray's Multiplication Properties: 3.OA.B.5
Students will sort the property cards onto the sorting mat depending on if the equation on the cards shows the commutative, associative, or distributive property. Students will complete a record sheet when finished sorting the property cards.
Shamrock Division: 3.OA.B.6
Students will flip over shamrock cards with three numbers on the shamrocks. Then they will have to decide which two numbers on the shamrock create a division sentence. Then they will record their division sentences and answers onto the recording sheet.
Leprechaun Time Match: 3.MD.A.1
Students will match the time on analog clocks to same time on the digital clocks. This center activity can be played as a memory game or students may just match the two times. Once all of the matches are made, students have a recording sheet to complete.
Rounding Lucky's Gold Coins: 3.NBT.A.1
Each gold coin has a number that needs to be rounded to the nearest ten if the number is in the tens or to the nearest hundred if the number is in the hundreds. Once students select their gold coin they will round the number and then place it on the round down or round up sorting mat. Once all of the Lucky's gold coins are sorted students will complete the two rounding worksheets that go along with their gold coin sort.
Sneaky Shamrocks Addition with and without regrouping: 3.NBT.A.2
Players will face off by completing addition problems to cover up the most shamrocks on the sneaky shamrocks board. Once a player completes an addition card they quickly complete another to fill up the sneaky shamrock board with all of their markers. Players continue playing until all of the sneaky shamrocks are covered on the board. The player with the most shamrocks covered wins!
Rainbow Subtraction with regrouping: 3.NBT.A.2
Students will use the rainbow cards to created subtraction problems. They will solve each problem then find the pot of gold that has the answer to the subtraction problem on it. They will place the pot of gold on the rainbow card. When students are done solving all of the rainbow subtraction cards they will complete the recording sheet. Two sheets are available for differentiation.
Leaping Leprechaun Area: 3.MD.C.7.B
12 task cards on area that are leprechaun themed will be completed at this center. The students will have to find the area of different shapes or the length of a missing side. Recording sheet included.
Horseshoe Fractions: 3.NFA.A.1
Students will sort faction circles on the horseshoe mats by denominator. Once all of the fraction circles are sorted the students will complete the recording sheet.
