PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This item is a great way to engage students and recognize the popular March Madness Tournament in your classroom through math! This activity is great before spring break or utilized as a testing review. All questions are 4th grade common core math aligned. The rigor of the problems increase in each tournament round.

How it works:
-Create teams
-Teams choose a college to represent
-Randomly pair up teams to play against each other
– All students answer questions but only teams battling against each other earn points
-Teams earn a basket (2 points) for being the first team to correctly answer the question. If the question is answered incorrectly, the opposing team can steal the points.
-After round finishes, the team with the most points advances to the next round

Tournament Rounds:
• Elite 8 – 7 questions → 28 questions total in file
• Final 4 – 9 questions → 18 questions total in file
• Championship- 11 questions→ 11 questions total in file

PDF file includes space for every student to work out every problem.
PowerPoint includes 69 slides with directions and questions. Answers are included in the notes of each slide.

The students love a friendly competition! They have so much fun they forget how challenging it is!
