Comprehension Mats ~ Daily Reading Practice for March (St. Patrick's Day and spring themed) has 20 different printable worksheets for the month of March. These are great for small group instruction, homework, and morning work. These printable activities have a short reading passage and 3 follow-up sections to complete.
Students must read the passage 3 times and color a seasonal shape after each read. They will build fluency through repeated reading. They must also draw a picture about the story or a connection they make. They must answer and complete different questions.
This resource provides a lot of reading practice each month to help build comprehension skills. All 20 of the mats cover a variety of seasonal topics. There are fiction and non-fiction reading passages included.
The activities align to the Common Core standards for first grade.
The reading mats are perfect for first grade, but could also be used for advanced readers in Kindergarten and for extra practice/as review for second grade.
