Description
I LOVE using sensory bins in my classroom. It's so important to keep the students engaged when learning and reviewing Kindergarten skills. Sensory bins area simple way to keep the students motivated, engaged, and focused on independent learning!
Print the center cards onto colored paper and laminate for durability. Cut the cards up and place in a tub filled with seasonal goodies for the students to feel and explore. I like to look in the Target Dollar Spot, craft stores, and my own classroom cupboards for tactile objects to put in my tubs. The students use the worksheets to record their answers. You can place the worksheet in a plastic file to use with dry erase markers, or print off the worksheets for the students to take home and show their parents!
March Sensory Bin includes 8 centers and differentiated recording sheets-
I included two themes: St. Patrick's day and March Madness!
St. Patrick's Day Theme:
-St. Patrick's Day letter cards: upper and lowercase- practice letters and sounds
-short u word family: the students pick a beginning letter to build short u words
-pot of gold numbers 1-10: number recognition, pick a card, count, and write the number
-Pot of gold addition 1-20: addition (the students pick a card and make an addition sentence.
Basketball Theme:
-"Short u family" beginning sounds: the students pick a picture card and then color the beginning sound letter that matches it.
-"Short u family" ending sounds: the students pick a picture card and then color the ending sound letter that matches it.
-"Short u family" CVC Words: the students pick a picture card and then color the word that matches it.
-Basketball number recognition: pick a card, and draw that many basketballs around the hoop (numbers 1-12)
I also included an EDITABLE St. Patrick's Day sensory bin activity! You can type in whatever you want onto the pots of gold to create your own learning center (it is a PPT file).
