March is one of my favorite months in the classroom because it is Women’s History Month. Women have had profoundly challenging lives throughout history and many continue to struggle around the world today. Students only have their personal life experiences in which to view the world. They assume everyone else has the same lifestyles, life experiences, and opportunities. Women’s History Month is a wonderful time to teach them of the diversity of history and the world. It gives girls the chance to empathize with other girls on the other side of the globe. It allows both boys and girls to appreciate the sacrifices and accomplishments of women of the past and today. It’s also a fantastic time to study nonfiction with biographies, practice higher-level thinking skills by responding to open ended questions, and learn about the world and its differences years ago. I’m happy to say you’ll find all of these concepts covered in this Women’s History month product.
In addition, comprehension questions focus on elements of Reading and Grammar!
